Agustín Barajas (Flamenco dancer)

Flamenco dancer Agustín Barajas

Agustín Barajas is a flamenco dancer and choreographer with a long career that began in the professional arts world when he was just 12 years old. His first appearance, at 12, was representing Spain on the international RAI programme “Bravo Bravísimo”.

He has trained extensively with great masters of dance and flamenco. He has toured half the world as a member of prestigious flamenco companies, performing in Venezuela, Panama, Morocco, Russia, France, Italy, the Middle East and Peru, among other countries. He formed his first company of his own for the Shanghai World Expo, and has created four major shows that have toured Spain.

In 2013 he joined a popular television programme as a dancer and choreographer, which made him a familiar face to Andalusian audiences for six consecutive seasons. He has also appeared on other hugely popular TV programmes, both in Spain and internationally across Latin America, alongside great artists such as Miguel Poveda and Antonio José.

He has starred in major advertising campaigns and is currently the face of the tourism campaign for Granada and Andalusia.

His productions include “Entre copla y flamenco”, “A mi aire”, “Tierra Lorca” and “De noviembre a noviembre”, staged with his own company and taken on major international tours. Agustín is without doubt one of the most brilliant dancers performing at La Alboreá, and he leaves no one indifferent.
