Álvaro Guarnido showed his passion for flamenco from the age of 3, and by the age of 8 he had won 4 national awards in sevillanas and Spanish classical dance. During his teens he combined his studies with flamenco dance, and at 17 he began his professional career as a dancer and choreographer.

During 10 years in England, he founded and ran successful dance schools and a flamenco show production company. He stands out for his motivation, efficiency and adaptability, as well as his extensive experience in flamenco choreography, performance and teaching.

He is currently continuing his training at the Málaga Higher Conservatory of Dance and touring with shows such as “Flamenco sin Fronteras” and “Sabor a Flamenco”. He also works as a photographic model and flamenco teacher, reflecting his commitment to this art.

Álvaro has also taken part in a number of notable projects and productions, including:

  • Finalist on the TV talent show “Veo Veo” with Teresa Rabal (1999).
  • Spanish sevillanas champion in Torremolinos in 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002.
  • Founder, director and choreographer of the production company “Flamenco Producción” (2008-2018).
  • Founder, director and teacher at the “Flamenco Dance Academy” (2008-2018).
  • Lead dancer in “Flamenco Show” at the Brighton Dome, Brighton Fringe Festival, Komedia Brighton, Komedia Bath and the People’s Day Festival in Brighton (2013).
  • Lead dancer in “Flamenco – Flamenco Show” at the Peña Flamenca de Londres, Brighton Fringe Festival, Green Note London, Brunswick Theatre Brighton, The Pleasant Theatre London and Camino del Flamenco Oxford (2014).
  • Lead dancer in “Hombres – Flamenco Show” at the Peña Flamenca de Londres, Komedia Brighton, The Pleasant Theatre London, Kino Theatre Eastbourne, The Royal Hippodrome Eastbourne and Ronnie Scott’s London (2015).
  • Lead dancer in “An Evening of Flamenco with Álvaro Guarnido” at Spain on Fire at Ronnie Scott’s London, Art House Theatre London, Green Note London, The Pleasant Theatre London, Kino Theatre Eastbourne, Bar Broadway Brighton, Royal Pavilion Bournemouth, Brunswick Theatre Brighton and Komedia Bath (2016).
  • Musical director and lead dancer in “Flamenco Sin Fronteras – Danza Jaleos” at Art House Theatre London, Royal Hippodrome Eastbourne, Royal Pavilion Theatre Bournemouth, Kino Theatre Eastbourne, Brighton Dome and the Casa de la Cultura in Huétor Tájar (Granada) (2017).
  • Lead dancer in “From the Garden of Spain” at the Dugdale Theatre London, Kino Theatre Eastbourne, Art House London, the Cairo Opera House (Egypt) and the Albert Long Hall in Istanbul (Turkey) (2017).
  • Flamenco teacher at centres for people with disabilities (2017).
  • Dancer in “Fusión de Mi Flamenco tu Lírica” at the cultural centres of Cenes de la Vega and Algarinejo (Granada) (2018).
  • Dancer in “Flamenco – Flamenco con Álvaro Guarnido” at Caipirinha Beach Club in Torrox Costa (Málaga), the Casa de la Cultura in Huétor Tájar (Granada), the Casa de la Cultura in Aguilar de la Frontera (Córdoba), Teatro de Torrox (Málaga), Peña Flamenca de Londres, Art House London, Kino Theatre and Komedia Brighton (2018 and 2019).
  • Semi-finalist at the Cante de las Minas International Festival in La Unión (Murcia) (2019-2021).
  • Creator of the YouTube channel “AL-MA Flamenca Flamenco Fusion” (2020).
  • Lead dancer in “Sabor a Flamenco” at the Teatro Municipal de Torrevieja (2021), Teatro Municipal de Alcoy (2021 and 2022), Casa de Andalucía in Ibi (2022) and Teatro Municipal de Huétor Tájar (2022).
