Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Perandres is a young dancer from Granada who represents the new generation of flamenco, shaped by rigorous training, artistic curiosity and a vocation that began in childhood.
Born in Granada, he has spent two decades training and exploring the fertile ground between Spanish dance and flamenco. His path has taken him through some of the most demanding schools in Spain: the Reina Sofía Professional Dance Conservatory in Granada, the Centro Andaluz de Danza in Seville and the Estudio de Formación de Arte y Danza in Granada. In 2023 he was also awarded a scholarship for a training residency at the Fundación Antonio Gades in Madrid.
His thirst for learning has led him to study with the very best, taking courses with figures such as Rocío Molina, Manuel Liñán, Farruquito, Eva Yerbabuena and Marco Flores, among others. He has also trained as a stage director at the Centro de Formación Escénica de Andalucía.
Professionally, his career is that of an artist already seasoned on major stages: he was part of the cast of the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía in 2019 for the company’s 25th anniversary, and of the Ballet Flamenco de Granada in the show Carmen. He is currently a member of the company La Itinerante, directed by Daniel Doña and Cristian Martín, performing in La transformación. Arqueología de lo Jondo, which premiered in June 2022.
International recognition soon followed: he was selected by choreographer and dancer Javier Latorre for the production Doña Francisquita, which premiered at the Teatro Cervantes in Málaga in September 2023, and he performed as a solo dancer with Pablo Giménez’s company in the show Ensamble español, on a tour of the United States in October 2023.
In short, Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Perandres is an artist who combines the technical solidity of first-class academic training with the fire of the most genuine flamenco, and whose name is increasingly heard on stages in Spain and abroad.
