Flamenco dancer Virginia Abril

Virginia Abril, born on 30 September 1991 in Granada, is an outstanding flamenco dancer and director of the dance school that bears her name. She trained at the “Reina Sofía” Professional Dance Conservatory in Granada, where she earned her Professional Degree in Dance, specialising in Flamenco Dance.

She completed her training with studies in Dance Teaching at the María de Ávila Higher Conservatory of Dance in Madrid and a degree in Physical Education Teaching from the University of Granada.

Throughout her career, Virginia has performed at many tablaos and peñas (flamenco clubs) in Granada, such as the Peña de la Platería, Venta del Gallo, Cueva Los Tarantos, Tablao La Soleá and Tablao La Comino, among others. She has taken part in a number of notable performances, including collaborations with the “Corral del Carbón” company and the opening of the Sacromonte Caves Museum.

Virginia has also been a member of the equestrian show company Sentimiento Ecuestre, performing at events such as CONCAB and SICAB and in bullrings in several Spanish cities. She has worked with the dance company Proyecto Flamenco and has appeared in shows directed by renowned artists such as Óscar Quero and Antonio Canales.

Her own shows include “Bolitas de Plata” (2018) and “La Nazarita” (2023), both acclaimed for their creativity and deep connection with the art of flamenco.

Virginia Abril remains an influential figure in the world of flamenco, bringing her passion and talent to stages at home and abroad, and training future generations of dancers at her dance school in Granada.
