Jorge “El Pisao”

Flamenco guitarist Jorge "El Pisao"

Jorge Sánchez, known as “El Pisao” thanks to a family anecdote, began his passionate journey with the flamenco guitar at the early age of 10 in Almería, under the guidance of José Rodríguez Pintor, “El Sarapio”. His pursuit of excellence led him to study with renowned masters such as José Manuel Cano, Paco Cortés, Emilio Maya and Manuel Parrilla, among others.

Throughout his vibrant career, Jorge has captivated audiences around the world, from Europe to the United States, as well as Asia and Africa. He has taken part in festivals and tours with various artists, bringing the richness of flamenco to international stages.

As well as his skill as an accompanying guitarist at peñas (flamenco clubs) and festivals, Jorge has explored musical fusion, collaborating with jazz musicians and musicians from other cultures, such as Arab-Andalusian music. He has also stood out as a composer, writing music for works such as the Ballet Flamenco de Granada’s “Carmen”.

As a teacher, Jorge has shared his passion and knowledge as a flamenco guitar teacher at the Carmen de las Cuevas school since 2005, teaching students of all levels as well as compás (rhythm) courses.

With his show “Noches de Madera”, presented at the 2nd Festival de las Cuevas in the Sacromonte in 2012, Jorge “El Pisao” shows his deep love and understanding of the art and forms of the flamenco guitar, establishing himself as a leading figure in the traditional flamenco of Almería and Granada.
