Manuel Fernández (Flamenco guitarist)
Flamenco guitarist Manuel Fernández was born in Santa Fe (Granada). He began playing at the age of 7 within his family and gradually developed as a guitarist, performing at festivals and sharing the bill with great artists such as Chonchi Heredia, Morenito de Íllora, Pansequito, José Parra, La Barbería del Sur, La Macanita, La Susi and Guadiana.
During his career as a guitarist he has played at peñas (flamenco clubs) such as La Platería, La Parra, El Torreón de Gaia and La Soleá, as well as at many other peñas across Andalusia and the rest of Spain. He has also had the opportunity to take his duende and soniquete (flamenco swing) to Europe, Asia and the United States.
As a dance accompanist, he has played for dancers such as El Farru, Manuel Liñán, Juan Andrés Maya, Luis de Luis, Antonio Canales, Raquel “La Repompa”, Alba Heredia and Maite Galán, among other leading dancers in Spain.
